Headaches and Migraines

Most people experience migraine headaches at least occasionally, whilst some suffer frequently. Approximately a quarter of all people will suffer from migraines or headaches at some time in their lives. Very often they start in childhood, or by the age of 20 to 35, and disappear as we get older.

There are many factors that can cause or trigger a headache or migraine, and the key to reducing them is to find out what your triggers are. In most cases it is usually a combination of the following:

  • Stress
  • Food and other allergens, including pollutants
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Constipation and poor digestion
  • Fatigue
  • High or Low Blood pressure
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Caffeine withdrawal
  • Dehydration

Getting your body back into balance with the right nutritional programme can alleviate both the frequency and the severity of headaches or migraines. In fact dietary changes can reduce the frequency from once or twice a day/week, to as little as a few times a year!
