Hypoglycemia

Approximately three in ten people have an impaired ability to keep their blood sugar levels even.  If some of the symptoms below sound familiar to you then you might be one of those people suffering from hypclycemia.

  • Fatigue or Low Energy
  • Craving sweet foods
  • Needing more than 8 hours sleep
  • Excessive thirst
  • Craving stimulants (tea or coffee)
  • Dizziness
  • Rarely wide awake within 20 minutes of rising
  • Need for tea, coffee, cigarettes or sweet foods to get you going in the morning
  • Feeling drowsy during the day, especially after meals
  • Avoiding exercise due to low energy levels
  • Poor concentration
  • Irritability
  • Forgetfulness
  • Energy slump mid afternoon
  • Nervousness
  • Depression
  • Sweating
  • Headaches
  • Poor digestion
  • Aggressive outbursts
  • Anxiety
  • Confusion
  • Palpitations
  • Lack of sex drive

If you suffer from some of these symptoms then it is highly likely that you too have an imbalance in blood sugars, which may result in hypoglycemia.   However, there’s no need to be alarmed as it’s easily rectified with some minor changes to your diet. In fact,  it’s highly likely that you’ll notice improvements to how you feel in just a few days, for instance, increased energy levels, improved concentration and mood, and, if you are carrying a few extra pounds or kilos, then you are likely to lose weight too.*

It’s very important to address this condition, because over a period of years, the pancreas (the organ in the body responsible for balancing your blood sugar) can become exhausted and this can lead to developing diabetes in later life.
