Weight Loss
Fed up with diets that don’t work?
Fed up with diets that don’t work? Finding it impossible to lose weight or keep the weight off? Our expert weight loss nutritionist in London can help. We have helped 100’s of people lose weight and keep it off.
You may have experienced weight problems or been overweight for most of your life and feel as if you’ve tried every diet invented, but still you never quite seem to see the weight loss results you’d like or might expect from the variety of diets you’ve tried.
Or may be you’ve been lucky enough to never gain weight and then suddenly started to struggle to maintain your weight or seen substantial weight gains recently. Perhaps it seems much more difficult to lose the weight than on previous occasions. Sometimes, when this happens in later life you find it much harder to shift the weight you’ve gained.
Many diets offer a ‘one size fits all’ approach to losing weight and when you’re struggling to lose weight, sometimes using the same diet as everyone else doesn’t but it’s very demoralising when they seem to work for others. You have to remember that you’re completely unique and you therefore need a diet and nutrition programme that’s designed for you and YOUR needs, one that takes your circumstances, your health and your body into consideration.
Helping you to eat tasty nutritious food that makes you feel good, as well as helping you to lose weight is our passion at The Nutritionial Therapy Clinic. Meal replacement diets, low fat diets, low calorie diets or starvation diets are not healthy or sustainable and don’t help you build the sort of good relationship with food that you need to take with you into a healthy future. If you want to lose weight and keep the weight off, you need a good, healthy relationship with food that’s easy to maintain for the rest of your life, not just for a few weeks or months. Otherwise you end up in that Yo-Yo diet trap where you lose weight and a few months later you’ve gained it back and sometimes you’ve even gained more weight, and have to start all over again.
Why do some people find it so difficult to lose weight?
There are many underlying reasons that could explain why it’s so hard for you to lose weight and some of those could be health related, although some could also be down to bad eating habits. Often people struggle to lose weight because of an underlying health issue that they aren’t aware of, but sometimes it’s just a matter of the wrong foods or too much food even. Some of the possible health issues that might make it difficult to lose weight are listed below:
- Tiredness causing bad food choices, quick fix foods
- Blood sugar imbalances causing overeating and binge eating
- Snacking or constantly grazing
- Not eating enough of the good fats
- Food allergies and intolerances
- Eating at the wrong times of the day or the wrong foods for you
- Not enough sleep
- Hypothyroidism, PCOS, menopause and other hormonal imbalances can all make it difficult to lose weight.
One diet that addresses all the above issues and more is the Metabolic Balance diet. This programme became famous in 2013, when Boy George attributed his dramatic weight loss to the diet and people have been losing weight and maintaining their weight with Metabolic Balance ever since. The Metabolic Balance diet was created by expert nutritionists and is scientifically researched and proven over more than 20 years. It allows you to eat healthy, tasty nutritious foods that you can buy in your local supermarket and to build a good relationship with healthy food for the future. At The Nutritional Therapy Clinic, we create Metabolic Balance plans that are individual to each client and this can help them achieve the required weight loss they want, but also the Metabolic Balance diet plan has the added bonus of improving general health and well-being. The diet is especially good for eliminating the cravings that can often make it so hard to stick to a diet and also balancing hormones, where they are out of balance, and this can often help you lose weight when it hasn’t been possible before.
