Planning your summer holiday? Need to lose weight before you go?

coconut can help you lose weight as part of the Metabolic Balance diet, expert advice from London Nutritionist

Why not try the Metabolic Balance diet to shake off some weight before your holiday.  You can lose weight and keep it off and you could boost your energy levels and improve your skin, which are some of the other benefits that come with Metabolic Balance! Metabolic Balance® is a scientifically based healthy eating programme comprised of a 4 stage plan for today and the rest of your life. You eat three meals a day using natural healthy foods.  The plan is tailor-made for each person, based on their individual nutritional requirements, which we determine by a blood test.

The Metabolic Balance® diet adjusts your body chemistry and rebalances your hormone levels, increasing fat burning, decreasing fat storage and promoting “anti-ageing”.  It even works for people who struggle to lose weight such as those with hypothryoidism, PCOS and going through the Menopause.

This is an example fo one of the delicious recipes that you can prepare and eat on the Metabolic Balance diet,  this tasty Moroccan Style Chicken recipe from the Metabolic Balance programme will get you in the holiday mood and it gives you an idea of how good the meals can be on the programme?

Moroccan style chicken Serves 4

1 tablespoon olive or coconut oil
2 red onions, sliced
4 organic or free range chicken breasts, skin and fat removed, cubed
700g butternut squash, unpeeled, seeds scraped out and cubed
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 L chicken stock (make sure no added starch or sugar, fresh or home made is best.)
Fresh coriander and mint for sprinkling
Freshly ground black pepper

1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and sweat the onion for 3 to 4 minutes, then add the chicken, squash and spices, and stir for another couple of minutes.
2. Pour in the stock, bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Uncover and simmer for a further 10 minutes to allow the meat to cook fully (the juices should run clear) and the sauce to thicken. Sprinkle with coriander, mint and black pepper before serving with veg of your choice.

This recipe can be cooked in the slow cooker, add less stock and put the squash in about 45 minutes before cooking finishes.
